Nettapus pulchellus

The Green Pygmy Goose is a small, surface-feeding duck found in northern Australia’s tropical freshwater wetlands. These tiny birds are characterized by their distinctive green backs, white cheek patches in males (duller in females), and finely scalloped underparts. They are primarily found in areas with abundant aquatic vegetation like water lilies, which provide their food source.
